Mertasari Bungalows

I spent a week here and would definitely come back. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious, and the resident dog Squid made the experience even better. Highly recommend 👌🏼.

The owner was so sweet, always smiling and helpful, and brought fresh fruit to our room every day. We could also rent brand new scooters right at the property. We had a great four days at Mertasari Bungalows, with beautiful, extra-clean rooms and pool. It's a great location for diving around Nusa Penida, only a five-minute scooter ride to several dive shops. Legend Diving was our favorite! 🤩 We'd love to come back, 10/10.

The hosts were extremely kind and helpful, and would bring a nice breakfast to the room if requested. Our private bungalow had a good-sized main room, a large bathroom, and a cute porch overlooking the lovely courtyard. The pool there was clean, relaxing, and 1.5 m deep. The lush, natural setting is charming. It's just 50 m off the main road, so it's quiet from human noise while still close to cafes, bars, restaurants, and other services. The waterfront is only 100 m away, with a lovely reef for swimming and surprisingly good snorkeling.

The property has plenty of greenery and is very quiet at the end of a narrow lane. The guy next door sometimes plays loud music in the morning, but he has good taste in music. The professionally shot photos set expectations too high. Basic facilities were missing: no breakfast, no daily drinking water, and the pool was dysfunctional. We also had a horrible experience with the cab we booked through them to reach the harbor for our return boat. They charged 150k, when the normal outside price is 75-80k. I went ahead because I had no cash left and had to pay by credit card. The driver arrived on time and initially seemed genuine, like he would do his best for clients. A few minutes later, he tricked us into thinking the last part of the route was very congested and suggested we walk while he helped carry our luggage. His suggested shortcut went through a junk yard, which was chilling, and he dragged our luggage for 500 mtrs, eventually breaking the wheels. A horrible experience and a total rip off. Don't ever book a cab with them.
