Air Manis Hillside Villa Cafe & Resto

We were a group of 14, and this was one of the few places that could fit all of us, so I took a chance booking it. The rooms, views, and hospitality from Herwin and his team all went beyond what we expected. Herwin told us about the activities available and helped arrange cars for our transfers the next day. His care alone makes me want to return. It’s a little farther from chinatown, but we had no trouble getting food or finding a Gojek to go shopping. A few things were worn, including stained sheets and leaking pipes, though they didn’t affect our stay. Try to arrive before evening if you want to catch the sunset from the first floor of the reception area. I’d recommend the place to anyone staying in Padang.

Herwin, the manager, and Arul at reception were both exceptionally kind and helpful. The accommodation itself is simple, set in beautiful surroundings that brought back memories of similar trips to Bali 25 years ago. air manis is a quiet, secluded recreation area for Padang, though still close to the city. There are a few restaurants and cafes at different quality levels. I’d suggest renting a scooter from the hotel to get around.

The restaurant was good, and the rooms looked lovely, though a few details seemed a little dated. It’s a beautiful setting with an incredible view. Prices are on the high side for Indonesia, but I enjoyed the scenery and dining here.
