Amaris Hotel Padang

Staff were friendly and very helpful, and breakfast was tasty with a decent selection. The bed was comfortable, the room was decent, and the air conditioner cooled well. I especially liked the smart TV. The big problem was the soundproofing. We could clearly hear people talking and walking outside, especially when guests in nearby rooms opened their doors and chatted loudly. Also, the hot shower in my room stayed cold even at the highest setting. Good enough for a budget stay if noise doesn't bother you too much.

We stayed at Amaris for a short trip and were satisfied for what we needed. Breakfast was standard Indonesian food, with an egg station, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Water comes from a hallway dispenser since there are no bottled waters in the room. On our visit, it tasted like soap, though hopefully that was temporary. There was no coffee kit either. The rooms were small and a bit worn, but clean. No bathroom kits, just shampoo and soap, and the shower had hot water with good pressure. It's an older, basic budget hotel in a great location. We picked it for the price and location, knowing it would be simple. Next time we might try a slightly newer budget hotel.

The price is reasonable and includes breakfast for two. The room was fairly clean and had a smart TV. It's right in the town center, across from Bank of Indonesia. One of the budget hotels in Padang I'd recommend.

The staff and housekeeping were superb, friendly, and gave great service. Breakfast tasted good, even though there wasn't much variety. Hot water is available outside the rooms on each floor. The location is convenient, within walking distance of the main government offices and shopping area. The room looked neat and clean, though the toilet smelled. It's a nice hotel.
