Tommy and his brother Bayu made our stay feel easy and relaxed. Tommy welcomed us warmly, looked after us throughout, and was always ready to help with anything we needed. Bayu knows Padang, the surrounding area, and all of Sumatra so well. Depending on what you're into and where you want to go, he can help plan around Minang or Mentawai culture, point out surf breaks and quieter clean beaches, or suggest the wild jungle on a tiny nearby island. He answered my many questions with patience, knowledge, and a great sense of humor. The homestay itself has everything we needed, including hot water and air conditioning, with a lovely atmosphere. It's in a quiet neighborhood, yet only a few steps from a street full of restaurants and shops, including a place for great Martabak late at night. It has a homey feel, perhaps because it's run by such a special family. I can hardly imagine finding a better homestay in Padang, or maybe anywhere in Sumatra. We could enjoy the fading light over this beautiful town in complete peace.

It's peaceful here, away from the noise, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom looked really nice too. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful with exploring the area, and could arrange a motorbike. We had a great stay and will come back.

We stayed one night, then decided to add another. The hosts were friendly, and the room was clean, with a nice bathroom and a large bed. You can hear people outside very clearly because the walls are open at the top, and there's a mosque close by. We'll return.

Bayu was a fantastic guide on the tour we booked through the homestay. He knows the region so well and made it a great experience. The Padang Homestay was lovely too, with a clean, comfortable room in a quiet neighborhood. Thanks to Bayu and his family :)

Bayu and Jen were so lovely to chat with and had loads of local knowledge. They helped arrange a motorbike and shared great suggestions, including quieter swimming spots off the beaten track. The neighborhood was cute and relaxed, with lots of food and laundry options nearby. Our room was super clean, with fresh new sheets, and the AC was really cold, which is essential in hot Padang. The bathroom was great, with very hot water, and the in-room internet was the fastest we found in Indo. The modem was mounted on the wall outside the room. Such a beautiful homestay and family. Hopefully we'll make it back :) Myora and Gunung xx
