The room was roomy and spotless, breakfast had a good range of choices, and the staff were warm and helpful. Getting in and out was easy, and the facilities and service were good. The central location made it simple to get around. Two things got in the way of a comfortable stay. The AC dripped onto the floor when set to 16°C, so I had to raise the temperature. Also, cigarette smoke from nearby rooms came through strongly at night, even though we didn't smoke in our room. Aside from those problems, I was happy with the stay, especially the location and friendly staff.

Bring your own hair dryer if you have an early flight. I asked the receptionist for one around 10 pm, hoping to use it in the morning, and was told there was a two-hour limit. I called again in the morning, but apparently all the dryers had been borrowed close to midnight, and nobody could call me at 2 am. Then what was the point of the two-hour limit? They should set a clear cutoff, like 10 pm or whatever. It felt unfair to people who need to leave early. 😖😤🤯

The convenient location made getting around easy, and my room felt cozy. I stayed in room 620 at Batiqa Hotel Palembang from 7 Sept to 11 Sept. The staff were the highlight, always friendly and ready to help, and they kept checking that I was comfortable. I'd choose this place again on my next trip to Palembang.

I wouldn't recommend it to light sleepers unless you can get a well-insulated room. Road sounds carried right into mine, music went on until midnight, and prayers around 4 a.m. woke me early.
