Uluwatu Sunset Hills

We felt cared for every moment, from the start of our stay to the end. The hotel is charming, the apartment delightful, and the pool amazing. There’s a cool gym, too, and the team made us feel so welcome. Best place on Bali!

You get a stunning ocean view from the private infinity pool, and central Uluwatu is just a few minutes away by scooter. Staff were prompt, kind, and more than accommodating. I’ll stay here again. There’s also a little ginger cat who likes to visit the villa, please take care of him.

We spent eight days at Villa Ananda and loved the magnificent view. Check-in was quick, and the staff were cheerful and helpful. They cleaned our rooms extremely fast, faster than anywhere I’ve stayed in Indonesia. The two things that bothered me were the lack of a bidet and the weak pressure in both the outdoor and indoor showers. I think it’s insulting to build “luxury” villas in Bali without installing bidets. I’m white, but the other guests with me were Indonesian, and it annoyed them as much as it annoyed me. Even the worst accommodation I’ve stayed in within Indonesia had a bidet. It made me wonder if they assumed no Asian guests would come, so why bother installing one and spend a few bucks, even though bidets are ultra cheap.

Villa Ananda is laid out as two bedrooms facing the pool, plus a covered outdoor kitchen and living area. It felt cool and breezy, with a spectacular view, comfortable beds, and plenty of room to unpack. It’s on the same level as the parking and taxi drop-off, so there’s step-free access. The staff were amazing and happy to help with questions or requests. I left my keys in a cupboard and forgot them at checkout. They found them almost straight away and arranged a motorbike to bring them to us at the airport. Thank you so much! We also enjoyed breakfast, especially the banana pancakes and tropical fruit platter. The pizzas and tempe Bolognese we tried were tasty, too.
