The food was tasty, and I especially loved the Ikan Gurami Bakar. The room and the rest of the place were clean too. From arrival through checkout, the staff were friendly. If you want a good night's sleep and a stay that meets expectations while visiting Pekanbaru, Hotel Tjokro is a good choice. Recommended 👍 😊✌️

There’s a little playground in the lobby, and the location made it easy to find local restaurants. We had plenty of room to open two small suitcases and still walk around comfortably. The toilet bowl was tucked into a cramped spot, though. Otherwise, it was a nice stay for the price.

There are durian stalls near the Indomaret, plus local restaurants and an angkringan on the next block where lots of people ate in the evenings. The hotel itself felt like a typical older place, and the room was just so-so. The water heater and air conditioning both worked poorly. The check-in staff weren't friendly, though the person at checkout was nice.

The room had an annoying smell when I first walked in, though it was spacious. This is an older hotel, but it's still well maintained, and the breakfast was tasty, especially the sambal. It's right in the heart of Pekanbaru.

The room is small but nice, with two single 90 cm beds and a power outlet beside each one. Wi-Fi was okay at around 20 Mbps. Storage space is tiny for two people, so you'll probably want to keep your clothes in your own suitcase.
