We spent three nights here on our honeymoon and loved how attentive the family were while still giving us our space. After a long, hot drive, we were welcomed with big smiles, fresh juice, and grilled barracuda and mahi mahi. The fish was some of the best I've had, especially with the Balinese sauce. The rooms are just steps from the beach. Put your head underwater and there's a world of colorful fish, coral, and other marine life. I was amazed by the variety, even in the first few meters, and could have spent hours there. Wayan took us out snorkeling on his boat and helped us find a turtle. We weren't sure we'd see one, but his trained eye spotted it coming up for air. We watched it swim around and munch on seagrass for a while. Such a special experience. The room was simple but had everything we needed, including a mini fridge, and it was very clean. The bathroom was clean too, and the staff were friendly and easygoing. We also had fun communicating with their adorable little boy through clapping and hand motions since he doesn't speak English. I'd recommend staying here over a hotel or villa if you want to relax, snorkel, eat well, and stick to a budget.

We didn't stay at the homestay, but we ate lunch there and kept coming back during our three days in Amed because the food was so good. The grilled prawns with shredded coconut sauce were savory. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely afternoon here, and the girls serving us were genuinely kind. If you buy a drink or food, you can use the sunbeds. The portions are generous by Indonesian standards, and the onion rings were the best I've ever had. I'm Italian and not fussy, but these were really good, made with fresh onions and fried perfectly in clean oil, not greasy at all. I regret not taking a photo, I'll be dreaming about them! My coffee came with a teapot, so I refilled my cup twice, and my boyfriend enjoyed a delicious banana juice. Prices were very fair. We rented a couple of snorkeling masks and left our things under the umbrella, where staff kept an eye on them. The snorkeling spot is beautiful, just two steps into the water, with lots of different fish. We even saw a water snake. What a day 🤗

Wajan and Kumang’s homestay is a fantastic place to unwind, right by a first-class snorkeling beach. The family are lovely, and the food is great too. On our last night, Wejan grilled a big tuna for us on the beach. His sisters also give wonderful massages.
