Punduk Villa

The view was the one good thing. The villa itself was very dirty, with mold, grimy windows, a cloudy pool, an overgrown garden, insects, and rat droppings. Nobody cleaned during our stay, the towels weren’t changed, and the bed wasn’t made. We raised these problems with the host, but nothing was done, and eventually we were told to leave. The host was late when we arrived and forgot the bike we had booked. Then we were charged twice what we’d paid at our previous five-star hotel. At $250 a night, this was far too expensive. The idea might be nice, but the reality was awful. The worst experience I’ve had for $1000 over four nights. 0/10.

Agus, the owner, and his team gave us the best hospitality of our whole trip, and their service made our four nights at Villa Punduk even better. We came to disconnect and enjoy Bali’s natural beauty, and the serene surroundings made that easy. The standout was the unobstructed view of Mount Agung. Seeing the volcano rise above the green valley in the morning felt spiritual. A magical escape at Punduk Villa.

Breathtaking views, a pool, and really yummy food, all in a peaceful place surrounded by nature. Punduk Villa in Sidemen is a must if you’re visiting Bali and love that kind of setting. Mr. Agush, the owner, greeted us with a warm smile and was incredibly hospitable. 10/10.

The garden wasn’t maintained, and there was mold and rat feces everywhere. The towels were old, and the windows were stained and moldy. The villa is dirty and falling apart, nothing like the pictures. The host was rude and lazy, and management and execution feel awful for what was once a good idea. For the view alone, it’s worth maybe $100-120 a night, at most.
