Hotel Olympic Semarang

For a budget stay where you're mostly out exploring and just need somewhere to rest, it’s really worth the price. I stayed 2 nights. The room is minimalist but still big enough, and it has AC, hot water, and TV. The TV channels are very limited, and phone reception is difficult in some rooms, though WiFi is free and accessible. There isn't much here beyond the room, but it works well for a short stay or backpacking.

There was enough parking, and it's close to the station. The room was clean, though small, with no window or natural light. The bathroom is tiny, and the sink is in the room outside it. The sheet was too small to cover my whole body at night, so it may not suit a tall person. The AC was okay but not very cold at 22°C, while WiFi worked well. The rest was fine.

A clean, well-run budget place with an antique feel. There’s a supermarket next door, a coffee shop right outside, and a good Chinese restaurant, pub, and salad bar 400 meters away. The location is good, and there are no hidden costs: the Agoda price is what you pay the hotel directly.

I liked the facilities, and this place could work for backpackers on a low budget, families, or a business trip. It has hot water, a restaurant, and even a mosque inside the hotel. But I didn't feel comfortable and don't think I'd return. My standard twin room was what I booked, but the bathroom door wouldn't close, so the smell came into the room. My friend found lots of insects in the bathroom, and other guests were very, very noisy early in the morning.
