The owner is very friendly, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. They're small, especially the bathrooms, so don't expect hotel-room space. It's right across from a minimarket and only a few steps from the frontgate of Pulau Merah beach. Get up at 5 am and walk a few minutes to enjoy the sunrise on the beach. Even on a summer day, it wasn't as hot as I'd imagined.

Piping, the owner, is simply lovely and very helpful. When I needed cash, we took Pipins bike on a 12km ride to the nearest ATM. I stayed here for 3 nights out of desperation. The place was clean but basic, and there was no hot water for the shower.

Being close to the beach was about the only good thing. The room was small, the TV was broken, and there were no towels, soap, coffee, or tea. Don't expect normal hospitality here. Mosquitos were flying everywhere, so beware.

I stayed here for work at tujuh bukit. The place was clean and I'd recommend it, though there isn't a hot shower if you need one.
