Restaurants close by made it easy to find something to eat, and there are also several attractions in the area. The location is strategic and makes it easy to get around. I went on a short trip with a friend, and the hotel staff were friendly with really good service.

I picked this inexpensive little hotel because it was close to where I needed to be, with Surabaya City Hall right across the street. It did the job for a quick night in Surabaya, and I'd stay again if I had to visit. The streets aren't very pedestrian friendly, especially the intersection by the hotel. Walk west on Walikota Mustajab and you'll find a few inexpensive restaurants and warungs. The rooms are small but work for one or two people. Mine had a mini safe, and the bed was modern and comfortable. It was reasonably clean, though the shower corners could use more scrubbing. That wasn't too bothersome in the humid tropics. This is the most overrated hotel I've stayed at in Indonesia. The hotel and nearby area are noisy, and my room was full of mosquitoes. The place feels dirty and worn out and needs modernising. Beds are uncomfortable, towels are frayed and well past their best, and the paint is chipped all over. The shower pressure is basically nonexistent, and you have to hold the shower head yourself.
