The city view from the window was nice, and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is conveniently placed in the city centre, with Malaysian sockets in the rooms so there’s no need to bring an adapter. Breakfast options were satisfying too. My sink was cracked and clogged, though, and laundry is charged per item instead of per kg, which makes it very expensive.

A solid choice if you want somewhere a little fancy without going over the top. Simple luxury is about right.

The staff were friendly and always greeted guests with a smile. Check-in and check-out were quick, which was a nice surprise after I’d read reviews mentioning long waits at checkout. The bed was comfortable, with four pillows and thick, clean, cool sheets, and the AC worked perfectly. The room was decent, though the lighting was dim, and the hotel’s upkeep was lacking. The shower looked dirty, and during a rainstorm water leaked through the wall above the window and dripped all night. Noise from the street and other rooms came through easily. The lobby felt warm because the AC had only just been turned on. The location is convenient, but parking can be limited, especially in peak season. I’d recommend recording the room’s condition when you arrive and before you leave, so you have evidence of its state at both times.

The customer service staff working on the afternoon of 26 December wasn’t welcoming or friendly. Miss, please smile at your customers next time!
