The room's size was the best part, with complete amenities, a clean, comfortable bed, and top-notch TV channels. The bathroom felt a bit cramped, though. The kitchen was nice, but we only used the fridge. Since we asked for a birthday setup, there was a little cake and a warm greeting.

I've stayed here a few times now, and each stay has been satisfying. The room was clean, everything was nice, and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant menu is good too.

The staff at Grand Mercure Mirama Darmo Surabaya were friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile and ready to assist. Its location was convenient for restaurants, shopping areas, and key spots around the city. I found the room spacious, clean, and well maintained, and the modern interior felt both comfortable and luxurious. The hotel has a warm, elegant atmosphere, which made the stay relaxing and memorable. I'd definitely come back, and recommend it for business or leisure.

The staff were attentive, polite, and hospitable, and breakfast was decent, with an okay range of flavors. Some dishes took a while to be replenished. On our last morning the dining area felt cramped because part of it was closed off for a wedding. In my opinion, breakfast could have been moved to another of the hotel's restaurants, since the wedding seemed to take priority. The bigger issue was the pool. I chose this hotel because it looked nice, but on Saturday the whole pool was being used for public swimming classes, not just part of it. I counted 25 sets of students and instructors at one point, along with 25 sets of parents, so hotel guests couldn't use it. When I was annoyed, a staff member told me I should have stayed on a weekday, which wasn't a good thing to say. On Sunday the pool was closed for a wedding. I felt shortchanged as a hotel guest. The air conditioning was poor, too. A technician came twice, and I felt like a problematic customer. They said it was working normally, but I needed it 4-5 Celsius lower for comfort. Nothing got fixed, and the two nights weren't pleasant. Cleanliness was okay, though there was mold on the toilet blinds. The room layout also made the light switches and plug point awkward to reach. The hotel is away from the main city, although there are some nice cafes within walking distance. Looking back, I'd have chosen somewhere on tunjungan street. I find it hard to recommend this place until management decides whether it's a hotel, clubhouse, or event space, and improves the air conditioning. It put a sour end to an otherwise great trip to eastern jawa.
