I couldn’t get comfortable or sleep well because mosquitoes kept buzzing around, and I was left with itchy bites despite trying to swat them. I’d also found cockroaches and other little bugs in the room. The place felt dirty and badly maintained, with dust and grime in many corners and a slippery, dirty bathroom floor that didn’t seem properly cleaned. This was an extremely disappointing stay at Toedjoeh Enam Homestay in Surabaya, and it felt like the pests were everywhere because cleaning and upkeep had been neglected. Toedjoeh Enam Homestay needs to improve its cleanliness and maintenance before I could consider it suitable. I can’t recommend it.

For a budget room, it was good enough overall, and I enjoyed staying there. Noise from outside comes into the room easily, though, and breakfast was just toast.

A cozy, clean place with a nice, warm feel. Good for a stay.
