Hotel Keprabon Solo

The room was fresh, clean, and tidy, and the service was excellent despite the low rate. Most city attractions are close by. If you stay several days, you can get a bundled price, as shown in the attached picture.

Do not recommend this place. The room was horrific in reality.

You can walk from here to Keraton, the other palace, and the Kauman batik neighborhood, and the hotel is centrally located. But the building is shabby and old. The stair carpet is dirty and has holes, and although the sheets looked clean, they had a strange color. The towels did too. Cleanliness needs work. They do have free water, coffee, and tea in the lobby. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I’ve tried different hotels in Solo in the same price range, and this was the worst for me. It’s an old place, and I think they could renovate the rooms one at a time. The location is great, the room was spacious with a very high ceiling, and you can sit outside your room if you want to smoke. There’s Wi-Fi, and I got tea as a welcome drink. The problems started in room 15. They said it was the only first-floor room with hot water, but there were bed bugs, so I moved rooms at 12:30 AM. The first room had an old TV with no remote. In the second, the TV was broken and only local channels were available. The AC was noisy at first, then quieted down. I’d leave it running. For a shower, you have to mix hot and cold water in a bucket because the shower itself only gives cold water, with a separate tap for hot. In the second room, the bathroom door was broken and there was no wastafel. I got two bars of soap and three small, very old towels. Breakfast was tea and slices of bread with chocolate spread, and none of it tasted great. I know that sounds like a lot of complaining, but online bookings cost less and only get you a second-floor room. Booking directly costs more but lets you choose a floor. I thought paying extra in person would get me a better room, but it didn’t 😁
