Pelangi Hotel & Resort

The rooms were fine, and the location near the port was convenient for our return. At breakfast, the staff asked if we wanted eggs, then ordered and served them, which was nice since many hotels make you serve yourself. They also kept the food and drinks topped up promptly so everyone could enjoy the spread. My relative did find cockroaches in their room, which wasn't pleasant. We asked to move rooms, and the staff handled it professionally, so I have no complaint about how they dealt with it. Just check your room.

The staff were very nice, but I definitely wouldn't stay here again. We found ants in the room, the shower was disgusting, and we were given only half a roll of toilet paper. The bed sheets were not unclean. Everything looked as if it hadn't been used in years. The fountains were either switched off or had no water, and the hotel isn't near the beach. I can't explain most of the stars here unless they came from people working at the hotel.

We were moved to a better room at no extra charge after rain flooded our first one. The service was great, and the staff were thoughtful and very friendly. They also provided a free driver to take us out and bring us back. The location wasn't great: the nearest beach was an hour away by car, and nearby there was only a small shopping mall and roadside stalls.

I stayed in the chalet, where the rooms were clean and spacious. The toilets were semi-decent, and the shower pressure was a little low, but it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast is included and has a pretty decent selection, though some dishes run out, so get there at 7am for the best picks. There's also free transport to various places. The location makes it easy to get to all the areas of interest, and it was a very value-for-money stay at Pelangi Hotel.
