OYO Life 91606 Nadin Guest House Syariah

A good place to stay if you're traveling in Garut. It's not far from the Tagarong roundabout.

The location is really convenient, right in the city and near the main road. But my second stay was uncomfortable enough that I left after one night instead of the two I’d planned. I’d come back hoping things would be better after an unsatisfactory first visit, but the rooms still weren’t ready or clean. I was first assigned rooms 15 and 16 upstairs, where I had to wait for the guard because nobody was there. The stairs and hallway were dusty and dirty, with muddy water of unknown origin. Room 15 still had the previous guest’s rubbish and unmade sheets, and the key to room 16 was stuck. I switched to rooms 8 and 9; the toilet door in room 8 was broken, and the other room was very dusty, as if it hadn’t been cared for. I didn’t notice any smell when I opened the door. I hope they improve the cleanliness.

Nadin feels more like a boarding house than a quiet place to stay. There are monthly residents, and during my visit they played music loudly until midnight. The surroundings weren’t very clean either. The squat toilet was cramped and hard to move around in. The room had twin beds, a wardrobe, and a small towel, but no Wi-Fi, air conditioning, or TV. It’s a little way down Jalan Terusan Panday from the main road, and with no sign, I had to ask people for directions. I booked through the OYO app and paid cash. I’ve had trouble whenever I booked with OYO, so I don’t pay ahead and would suggest checking the place first. The woman on duty was friendly and talked quite a bit about her partnership with OYO. Nadin currently only takes cash on delivery, so I’d advise app users to pay in cash. For 80,000 Rupiah a day, it’s okay if all you need is a shower and somewhere to sleep. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want comfort or quiet. I stayed February 23.

The room was very clean, the bathroom was fine, and the air was cool enough that we didn’t need AC. My only complaint was the pillow, which flattened out when I used it. The caretaker and the mother were kind. Our train got in at 10 pm, and after finding dinner we reached the guest house at midnight. Thankfully, there was a contact number on the door, so we could get in touch. If you don’t have a credit card like me, it may be better to book by phone through OYO and pay there. For the affordable price and room quality, I’d recommend this Guest House.
