Ujung Ubud Guesthouse

For our next Ubud trip, we’ll probably stay at Ujung Ubud guesthouse again. It was a great quiet spot for us, away from the crowds, noise, and traffic jams of the big city. It’s in the rice fields, 4km north of Ubud, around 15 minutes by scooter to downtown. There’s a small pool for cooling off in warm weather, and our room was spacious enough for two. The bathroom was arranged perfectly, including a bath that was great for relaxing. The decor mixes traditional and modern styles. It’s well built, and you can tell the owner really loves the place.

A really peaceful place among the rice terraces, with friendly staff and a shuttle into Ubud center if you want to go. The pool is great for cooling off, and after dark, don’t miss the fireflies over the rice paddies. There are some great cheap places to eat nearby, plus a mini market about a 2-minute walk up the road that sells EVERYTHING!! A great place to relax.

I planned to stay for just two nights before moving on, but I loved the place so much that I added two more days. It’s tucked away among rice paddies, about a 15-minute ride from Ubud, and quiet enough to hear crickets and frogs at night instead of city noise. For a very reasonable price, the luxurious room and comfort made me feel at home. The WiFi wasn’t the strongest, but it worked well enough for me to get some work done. The staff were extremely friendly, homemade meals are available, and renting a scooter is both possible and necessary. A lovely spot to relax, disconnect, and enjoy some time to yourself. I’d come back and highly recommend it.

The view from my balcony over the rice paddies was stunning. It’s a lovely spot about a 5-minute drive north of Ubud town center, with really good value for money. They offer free transport to and from the center before 10pm. I was traveling solo, so they gave me a lift on the back of a bike. I’m not sure what they do if there’s more than one person.
