For a Mount Bromo climb, this is a good place to stay. Make sure you book ahead, since police may stop taxis and motorbikes on the way up and won't let you through without a hotel booking. When arranging a jeep tour with a guide, don't accept the first price they offer. Talk it over with them.

We had a bad experience and wouldn't recommend this place. The room wasn't clean, with hair and dead bugs on the floor, and the hot water didn't work. The water supply itself also kept cutting out. After returning late from the Bromo tour at checkout time, we were repeatedly pressed to leave even though I explained we were showering, packing, and getting ready. I was changing and in my underwear when I answered the door. The personnel also weren't welcoming or polite.

The water heater worked properly, and both the room and toilet were clean. The hotel is new, and it makes a good base for Bromo. Highly recommended.

We were treated badly by the owner, who was very impolite and rude. It felt completely unprofessional, and I don't think people would come to this hostel if they were treated as we were.

There’s food available if you get hungry, and jeeps go out for Bromo trips every night. The building is new, has a water heater for bathing, and is close to the road. A nice place for a Bromo staycation.
