The setting is lovely, with beautiful plants around the property and the restaurant right on the beach for those amazing sunsets. The staff were warm, laid-back, helpful, and flexible, without putting any pressure on us. Food was great value, and there’s a mixed menu, though I’d definitely try the local dishes. The coastal location has wonderful volcano views, too. They’re rebuilding after being affected by COVID and other things, and I’d highly recommend supporting the business.

I’m guessing most guests are out diving and don’t spend much time in their rooms. For 500K per room per night, though, I expected a lot more. At this price, we could get a much better room at the same hotel level. The air conditioning was good, at least. Breakfast was disappointing: fruit, toast or a pancake, and just ONE cup of coffee. A refill costs extra. Since this is a dive site, I can’t say whether other hotels nearby are better or worse, as I didn’t check.

The bungalows are spacious and comfortable, though very basic. The cheapest ones have no air conditioning or hot water, but upgrading to get both is still really inexpensive. Staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful, and the on-site restaurant was reasonably priced and quite good. Every dish I tried was delicious. We stayed two nights, and also used the hotel and restaurant as a base for day dives on three or four other occasions. Paradise is a great value if you’re diving around Tulamben.

The resort feels a bit old, but the room, mattress, price, and location were all good. The owner was friendly and advised us not to book through Agoda because they aren’t “recognised” and the room type and price may be wrong. Booking.com is fine. You can see the sunrise from the front and Mt. Agung from the back.

I had a great time here and would happily return. The staff are kind and attentive, the food at the restaurant is nice, and the dive centre is right on the beach. The bungalows are clean and sit in peaceful gardens, though they feel a little dated. There are pools for practicing diving skills or just relaxing. The nearby coral garden and underwater wreck are interesting, with clear water and beautiful colour. It’s a very nice place in an excellent diving area, especially for divers.
