Mawun Valley Farm

The farm was well looked after by the owners and staff, and the animals were so friendly and cute. Having breakfast while petting them was lovely ❤️ The owners speak English very well, so you can ask them about all sorts of things. You can see that they want to build a community through activities like the weekly BBQ. I really enjoyed my stay.

The Friday night BBQ at Noni’s cafe was a highlight, and the food was delicious. I also loved the slow pace after a few months of travelling, and made great friends with other volunteers, who all stayed for two weeks. Volunteering at Mawun Valley felt more personal than the usual sort of placement: you work on your own project, depending on how you want to help the farm grow. They’ve made a lot of progress in a short time. Jasur and Noni are a lovely couple with a real passion for sustainable living. They’re so welcoming and chat with the visitors who come by each day. The farm is peaceful countryside on Lombok, just 15 minutes from Kuta central, away from the town’s bustle. There’s also a great space for kids with a paddling pool, sports field, and a volleyball net the other volunteers made. Thank you, Mawun. I’ll treasure the time I spent there, and I already miss my bed in Lime Hut.

Taking care of the goats, plants, and trees in such a beautiful natural setting made volunteering at Mawun Valley a wonderful experience. It’s incredibly peaceful, and the farm is growing quickly. Jasur, Noni, and the whole team are welcoming and clearly care about this inspiring project. BBQ nights were lovely, the food was incredible, thanks Lisa, and congklak and frisbee were a lot of fun. The wooden cabins are really cozy, and the farm is full of nature: vegetable plants, fruit trees, herbs, goats, ducks, cats, and chickens. I spent a week there volunteering and loved it. Jasur and Noni have created a warm community and do everything they can to make guests feel at home. There’s always something to enjoy, from BBQs and card games with other guests to movie nights and Noni’s baked treats. It’s a peaceful spot about 15 minutes from Kuta center. Rent a scooter and check out nearby beaches like Tampah and Mawun.
