We stayed nearly a month in a bright second-floor room in a Balinese-style brick house. It had a king bed, spacious bathroom, and lovely balcony overlooking the well-kept garden and pool, with beautiful sunsets. The shared facilities include a workspace, an outdoor kitchen, and a pool. The staff were kind, attentive, helpful, and thoughtful. When we had a Wi-Fi problem, they worked to sort it out quickly and efficiently. Our room was cleaned very well every day, and on Valentine’s Day they left us a rose, a personalized card, and chocolates. This is a peaceful, private-feeling spot in a neighborhood where islanders live and work alongside tourists. There’s a beautiful temple, schools, and a yoga center nearby. The area has a wide mix of restaurants, from local to French, Spanish, Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican, and vegan food, plus a delicious bakery and a café roasting beans grown on the island. We also found interesting little shops selling distinctive, well-made artisan goods. It’s easy to get around by scooter or on foot. Walking through the monkey forest brings you to one of the main roads into central Ubud. We can’t wait to come back. We miss you already. Thank you for everything ❤️🙏

I love the location and found it a fine place to stay. The area has a strong feel of traditional Ubud architecture, with plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are nice, and the staff are friendly and warm, like people are throughout Bali. If the place hadn’t been promoted as a coworking hotel, I’d probably give it five stars. The coworking part didn’t work well for me. The Wi-Fi was the worst I’ve had in any hotel around the world in 18 months as a digital nomad. It took a week of repeated complaints to get it fixed. The coworking space is about a 10-minute walk away, which was especially difficult to reach in rainy season, and that distance wasn’t made clear when booking. Several dozen other accommodations are closer to the workspace, so staying here doesn’t offer a particular location advantage for coworking. The desk in the room isn’t set up for work either. It’s a bit too high and paired with a tiny round stool, so I couldn’t really work there for more than an hour or two. That setup wasn’t ideal for a digital nomad in the rainy season. I also checked out Outpost Penestanan. That hotel was designed as a coworking hotel, with an open-air workspace directly above the accommodations. Its street isn’t very walkable, though.

The staff warmth was what I appreciated most at Outpost. They’re always ready to help and offer tips, especially about getting around. Special thanks to Ola for putting up with my daily questions, haha! It’s a peaceful place to unwind, with a sense of connection to the local community and nature around you. It’s not near Ubud’s main hotspots, but that means you can find charming local cafés that are well worth a visit.

We spent five days here, my friend and I. The Wi-Fi was strong and the room got cleaned quickly. Even in rainy season we had sunshine the whole time. We enjoyed warung food, Pison, and some local dishes, getting around easily with Grab moto. Loved our days in Bali.

Be careful with this management. After I made a reservation and paid, they essentially ghosted me, despite their unclear cancellation policy. I booked ahead, then couldn’t come because of a force majeure. When I asked to cancel a week in advance, they went back and forth, saying they only offered credit and that management could decide how long it would be valid. Apparently they don’t consider war a force majeure. They chose to give me only three months to use the credit, not even six, for a business in tourism. After sending that message, they were impossible to reach. They say to get in touch if there are any issues, and I did, but all I kept receiving was the same automated reply. Their “refund” policy has no clear dates, and the communication felt shady and greedy. Many places in Bali refund the full amount when people can’t make it, and I’m not even asking for that. Shame on them for handling it this way.
