Aniniraka Resort & Spa

Ants were nesting in the bed’s headboard and kept crawling over me. The staff were disorganized and rude, and people smoked near the rooms, sending cigarette smoke inside despite the resort being listed as smoke-free. I was repeatedly interrupted by knocks or calls about pointless questions. I even had to operate the EFTPOS machine myself because the child at the desk couldn’t use it. The place felt tired, messy, and run down. This was my worst hotel stay in Bali. Avoid it.

The rice paddy view was lovely, and the air conditioning worked very well. We had an upstairs Superior Room overlooking the pool. The room was missing furniture, the sink and bathroom had mold, and the pillow looked questionably dirty. The room and hotel didn’t match the website photos. There wasn’t a restaurant, either. It seemed like this had once been a nice place, but it hasn’t been maintained. For the price, it was just okay. They should update the photos so guests know what they’re getting.

I'd happily come back. The room was spacious and had a bathtub, and the location was handy, with a great view and good facilities. Just know that toothpaste and toothbrushes aren't provided. I could walk to Bukit Campuhan for a morning trek and shop at Bintang Supermarket. The bath water wasn’t very hot, and the pool floor felt kind of slippery, so it needs more regular cleaning. Still, I had a nice few days here and would recommend it to friends.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms were spacious and clean, with plenty of hot water. The pools were nice too. The internet sometimes got unstable, though I could still work from my room. It’s close to central Ubud, but quiet, with no roosters or construction noise. That kind of peace is precious in Bali. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
