Asri Sari Resort Ubud

Having your own pool is a real plus, and the bed was comfortable. The villa and breakfast were decent, though you can see the place could use some upkeep. A sink shifted when I leaned on it, so the maintenance shows. The resort sits among rice paddies, well away from things, which I already knew and wanted. Staff were awesome and helpful, and the restaurants about a 15-minute walk away were great. You can also hire a driver for 10 hours for 55 AU to go wherever you want. A good fit if you’re fine with the rough edges.

A lovely local spot with garden greenery, statues, and nice pools. Breakfast is made to your choice and brought to the room when you ask. My room was roomy, with a good bed and a nice balcony, plus a view over the rice fields from the window. The bathroom was huge but had no window or real style, and the aircon installation looked ugly. It could use maintenance and upgrades, and a refrigerator would be welcome. Still, it has a lot of potential and deserves better than the one-star review it had so far. If you want a brilliant, stylish local place, this could be it.

The friendly staff were the only good part for me. For Rp.300k a night, I wasn't expecting luxury, but you may want to know what you're booking. My bed felt awful, with the springs noticeable, and the covers and pillow smelled like someone's head. There were insects everywhere, especially ants, along with mosquitoes and flies, which made sleeping feel uneasy. The property was in poor shape: the toilet bowl and sink moved when used, the clothes hanger was broken, and the door was hard to open, so be careful not to lock yourself in. Don't bother turning on the TV, there was nothing to watch. Breakfast fried rice was just rice with soy sauce, and the only free item was hand soap. It's deep inside the area and far from local food. I'd spend a bit more and choose another villa.

Bad experience. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields, and there were so many mosquitoes, cockroaches, and other bugs.
