Aswanaya Villas & Suite

The villas are comfortable, with big beds and roomy bathrooms, and the pool and grassy grounds are lovely. At night, the sounds of nature make it especially peaceful. The staff were kind and easy to approach, though at times they seemed a little laid back. Getting around was less relaxing. Aswanaya Villas is about 30-40 minutes from central Ubud, and the shuttle only runs twice daily and doesn't take you right into the centre. We also booked a pickup at the domestic terminal, but the driver went to the international one instead. After a long flight we waited around half an hour, arrived tired and late, then had to hurry to dinner before the kitchen closed. The rice field setting is beautiful, and we enjoyed our stay. Still, the restaurant menu felt basic and the spa was more like a cabin, so I wouldn't call this a four-star hotel. There's a lot of charm here, but service and facilities need some work to match that rating.

We had a wonderful stay, and the food was good too. The place was clean and quiet, with local shops easy to get to. Staff were polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

The staff made us feel at home, and we had some lovely conversations with them and the other guests. Everyone was kind and fun to talk to. Food was fresh and delicious whenever we ate there, and the grounds were kept so nicely, like a little oasis in Ubud. Our bungalow had a peaceful, charming feel, with thoughtful details inside and beautiful views just outside the door. It was exactly the kind of stay we wanted. We loved our time at Aswanaya and can't recommend it enough.

The view from the lovely bungalow was amazing, and we slept well in a great bed. The pool was good too, and the staff were really kind and nice. Just watch out if you need to walk out to explore. There's no sidewalk, so you're on the busy road, which feels pretty dangerous.
