Awan Bali House

We were right in the middle of Ubud, with great restaurants and the market close by. We also ordered food at the stay. The nasi goreng and mushroom soup we tried were both good.

The room was comfortable and nice, with air conditioning, and the dogs there were really cute and friendly. Staff are very nice and greet you whenever they see you. The location is prime Ubud, with everything nearby or within walking distance. For the price, this place is amazing, and paid services like laundry were handy. The only problem we had was that they didn't clean our room each day unless we asked.

The shower drain caused the bathroom to flood on our first night, but the staff were always ready to help and did what they could to make us comfortable. The hotel is handy, right on one of the main roads, and the rooms were clean enough. Breakfast was sparse and, to me, not really suited to tourists, so we chose to eat elsewhere. That’s why I’d give it four stars.

We booked a deluxe room and stayed for four days, but were put in a different room because another guest had stayed longer than planned. Nobody told us until we asked. The room service was poor, the bathroom and sink wouldn’t drain, and there was a nasty smell. I don’t understand how this place got three stars. It needs to spend money on maintenance. I think it’s family-run, and they don’t know how to manage it. Families, please don’t stay here.
