The rooms are spacious and cleaned every day, tucked into the forest beside a stream. It feels secluded, even though the convenience store is just five minutes away. The family host was welcoming and nice, and it’s good value for money. Be aware the steps down are narrow, so the place isn’t wheelchair accessible.

We really enjoyed staying at Bali Asli Lodge and felt warmly welcomed. It was lovely to catch glimpses of everyday life in a Balinese family. The rooms were spacious, cool and private, and cleaned daily. Set back far enough from the road to stay quiet, the lodge is still only a walk from central Ubud. I’d absolutely recommend the experience.

The family made this homestay especially memorable. Alit helped me with everything, and her kids were adorable. They even invited me along to their ceremony, and I’m so grateful I got to experience that. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with lovely views and a private terrace for each one. You can order breakfast and eat it outside each morning, and the accommodation is very cheap for what you get. I loved my stay and highly recommend it if you want an authentic Bali experience and a chance to connect with locals. Whenever I’m back in Ubud, I’ll stay here again. Thank you so much.

Made and her daughter made my Bali stay feel like being welcomed into their family. As a woman travelling alone, I felt safe and really appreciated how caring and warm they were. Just watch your footing on the stairs. I’d happily come back.

The rooms stayed quiet and clean, and the fan was enough since they don't get direct sun. Made and the family were lovely to stay with, helped us with whatever came up, and even talked us through some local traditions.
