White House Central Ubud

The location is hard to beat. Restaurants, bars and coffee shops are within walking distance, yet it stays quiet enough to sleep before heading back into busy Ubud. You mostly hear the animals. I had a nice view and patio, and the bathroom was cleaned okay. Hot water and working AC were a plus. The WiFi stops working when it rains, which sucks, though that's not their fault. They should fix the doors so insects and other creatures can't get into the room, and provide mosquito nets for the beds. They don't clean rooms daily unless you ask, and they don't change the sheets either. If you ask for a cleaning during a long stay, that still doesn't include fresh sheets. I didn't ask, but I'm pretty sure sheets are only replaced when there's a new booking. At least I hope so. The shower head also sprays unevenly, something they could fix by clearing the calc. I was downstairs and had a really good stay. I'd suggest getting a downstairs room, since a bunch of monkeys getting on the roof early in the morning could give you a heart attack. The walls are thin too, so I may have heard some freaky things from the upstairs neighbour. Just be mindful. One day there was a rack in my room, then it disappeared. I hadn't been using it, so I didn't ask why, but when I later needed it I was too lazy to ask. Put some clothes on it to dry so nobody takes yours.

I ended up staying 11 days after extending by four, and the pool was a lovely place to relax. The fountain hitting the water sounds so nice that alone I'd recommend it. The rooms are good enough, and if something's wrong they'll fix it or move you to a different room. I don't understand why the other reviews are so bad.

The room was clean, and I liked that the AC wasn't positioned right by the bed, a big plus if you're sensitive to air conditioning. The staff were always helpful with arranging things and renting a scooter. There's no room service, though I'm sure they'd clean if you asked. For a few days in Ubud, this is a good fit: a quiet neighborhood, with cafes, restaurants and shops only minutes away. A few things could be improved. A mosquito net in the bathroom and doors that shut properly would help, especially by the rice field where there are some mosquitoes. They could offer room cleaning every two days and a complimentary bottle of water each day. Cleaning dead mosquitoes or bugs off the walls would make things look tidier. It didn't bother us. The reception sentence in my notes was left unfinished.

We had rice fields right outside the room and a great view from bed. The location is amazing, right in the middle of ubud, and the price was super good. They do laundry too, at 30kg a kilo, which is really nice. The pool at the hotel is lovely, and there’s great wildlife at night.
