Bali Backpackers Hostel

A really welcoming hostess runs this clean hostel, and there's a nice common room too. It's a handy central base for backpackers exploring Bali, with famous attractions reachable on day trips. I'd come back for sure. Leo

I slept well because it was quiet, and the bed was roomy with its own curtained-off space. But over my five days, there were plenty of problems: the place is at the end of Sanggingan street, quite far from town, and the check-in staff member wasn't friendly, though the others were fine. My third-floor women's dorm was dark, with just a small window and no balcony, and the AC wasn't working properly, so it got hot. There was no hot water, one of the third-floor bathrooms was really dirty, and despite a router being there, the wifi only worked on the first floor. They also didn't change the sheets.

Clean, quiet rooms and a hostess who's friendly and ready to help with anything. A great place to stay when you're coming to Ubud, 100% recommended.

I only extended my time in Bali because of this hostel. Vera and David made me feel at home, helped whenever I needed something, and we ended up talking like old friends. After being cheated several times in Bali, their kindness and honesty meant a lot. They even shared their many romantic stories, haha. Diha, the elegant and artistic owner, also inspired me with her independence and maturity. She can teach yoga and draw and paint, and she was kind enough to give me a lift to Sanur. The beds were comfy, the air conditioning cool, the bathroom had shampoo and body wash, and breakfast was delicious. For me, travelling is best when you meet kind people with a similar outlook, and these three gave me a real sense of belonging. Saying goodbye was hard, but friends can meet again.
