Canting Bali Suite

I really enjoyed how peaceful the grounds were. This is one of the best guest houses I've stayed at in Bali. The owners and staff work hard to make your stay enjoyable. My room was spacious, with a small kitchen and utilities, clean tabs, fresh linens, water refills, and A/C that worked well. They cleaned it every day and sorted out my check-in around midnight without a problem. The Wi-Fi was unstable, as it is everywhere in Bali, but the connection was good most of the time. I arrived to find they'd given my room to someone else, which I didn't think could happen. At first, the manager claimed the room he was offering was the one I'd booked. The photos made it clear it was very different, and I didn't appreciate being lied to. I'd even messaged in advance to make sure I got an upstairs room, and they'd confirmed it. Being offered a little bungalow as if I wouldn't notice the difference felt insulting. After I insisted it wasn't what I'd booked, he said they'd given my room to an earlier check-in guest. I said I'd find the booking details to show him, and he used that moment to leave and go home. I was left stranded in another country after traveling for three days around the world to get there, jet-lagged and trying to find somewhere at the last minute. The place also looks incredibly worn compared with the online photos. Worst experience I've ever had. Avoid this disaster and go literally anywhere else. Jokers.

My room felt like a little villa by the pool. It was clean and quiet, the staff were polite and friendly, and there were lots of birds and butterflies. A really lovely stay.

We had a great time learning to cook Balinese food today. We also met two lovely women from Leeds in England. Get in touch if you like, and come visit us next time you're in Australia.
