D'Legon Villas

We booked seven nights at Jungle View Villa in February 2026, hoping for a peaceful stay. Instead, we left early because we felt the property posed a health risk, and had to pay for different accommodation ourselves. The owner first offered a refund, then withdrew it and stopped responding. I’m sharing what happened so other travellers can decide with that in mind. Based on our stay, I couldn’t consider this place safe or suitable to book at this point. There was dampness and extensive BLACK MOULD throughout the villa, including on pillows and bedding, inside the air-conditioning units, on ceilings and in bathrooms. We also found mould in kitchen storage areas, on shelves and bed frames, and around the DRINKING WATER container. There were deposits floating in the water as well. A persistent mould smell added to the concern. My wife is immunocompromised, became unwell shortly after we arrived, and needed medical attention and treatment. The advertised quiet didn’t match what we experienced either. Nearby construction was clearly audible every day from around 8am to 6pm. Several advertised amenities were missing. On-site staff were kind and polite, but seemed not to have been properly informed or trained to recognize the seriousness of mould and cleanliness problems. When we raised the issue, the owner acknowledged the health risks, then loudly blamed and reprimanded staff in front of us without taking responsibility. It was uncomfortable to witness. Even the neglect of the small offering shrine was troubling. This was far from what I’d reasonably expect of accommodation described as peaceful and safe, even in Bali.
