Once you catch that first view, you’ll be glad you made the effort to get here. The Green Spirit Villa sits tucked behind a residential property on a cliff, so it can be tricky to find, and there are plenty of stairs. With only a few rooms, it’s quiet and peaceful, and the communal reception feels like visiting a shared home. The staff are lovely and ready to help with whatever you need. I did feel uneasy about security: there’s no safety deposit box, and the rooms can’t be fully secured. That seems normal for the Balinese, but as a traveler who has trouble trusting people, I didn’t feel comfortable going far from my bags.

The photos on booking sites don’t capture the real feel of this place. There’s a wonderful view and pool, and the rooms are big, comfortable, and nice. Our room included breakfast, which came in a huge portion and tasted amazing. We loved their papaya jam so much that we bought some after leaving. It’s a peaceful place to relax to the sounds of the jungle and nature. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in Ubud!

This peaceful jungle hideaway brings back the Ubud of before the tourist rush and boom. The boutique details are breathtaking, and I can’t think of anything negative to say about the villa. The Balinese staff make it extra special. They’re always smiling and ready with whatever you need, from local information to a glass of water or the fantastic healthy breakfast included in the room rate. Kris welcomed us and really made an impression with his knowledge and genuine interest in making sure guests had the best experience. My fiance will definitely want to see the place when we return next year, and I’m looking forward to seeing Kris again too. As a hotelier, I appreciate service that goes above and beyond. I hope the amazing Balinese staff get the recognition and reward incentive they deserve, since the local people are the face of many businesses and it matters to me that they’re recognised and paid equally. Many thanks to Eva and your family. Your Bali home really feels like home to us, and you should be proud of this little piece of paradise. We’ll see you again soon. Miss Tia and Mrs Kerrie

We stayed for two days. The view is stunning, and the small pool is nice, even if they’ve tried to give it an infinity pool feel (lol). Breakfast was enough, the rooms were pretty clean, and the decor felt both original and traditional. We had a room with a bathroom open to nature, which worried me at first because I thought a jungle animal might jump on me, y’know. At night, you hear the sounds of nature, bugs, kekos, and lizards. If you have a bug phobia, this stay could feel like torture or a challenge, depending on how you see it, so know that before coming. The location is okay if you rent a motorbike, since Ubud centre is quite far. Bring snacks, as there’s no restaurant at the hotel, though a few are nearby. Bird's nest(Thai Food) was our favourite. The staff were great, respectful, and helpful. Thanks again for their service.

Lovely place with lovely staff. The papaya jelly they make themselves was amazing, and so was the omelette. Nice view, like the one at 4 seasons, but without the heavy price. The beds were comfy, the bedroom was standard, and the massage was lovely.
