Damuh Guest House

The little garden was a lovely place to sit and relax at the table beside our room, and renting a motorbike there was convenient. The owners at Damuh Guest House were always smiling and ready to help, and made our time in Ubud feel special. They’re a fantastic family, whatever the negative reviews say. We’ll be back for sure :)

The staff were kind and helpful, and the room was cozy with a large mosquito net over the bed. Rooms sit around a courtyard where a tiny rabbit runs about. It could get loud, with kids playing and shouting in the courtyard. There was just a chair in the room and a shelf for belongings. I had to unpack and repack my backpack on the floor, which felt a bit uncomfortable and dirty.

We were warmly welcomed by the lovely, friendly family and stayed five days. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had a mosquito net. Breakfast was available to order, and it was great. The city center and monkey forest are walkable, or you can rent a scooter at the guesthouse. This was one of the best places we’ve stayed in Bali, and we’d choose it again if we return to Ubud.

The room and bathroom were clean and quite spacious, and the owner, his wife, and his daughter-in-law were kind. We weren’t always sure who to speak to or where to find them, though. The place is far from the center and monkey forest, but they have motorcycles for rent. Breakfast isn’t included, but you can order it the day before. It was inexpensive and really good.
