Elbe Homestay

I came to Ubud for sightseeing and wanted somewhere relaxing to rest, and this place worked well for that. It’s a new guest house in Pejeng, about 10 minutes from central Ubud, and very quiet. The owner was friendly and helpful. There’s a small pool, free wifi, comfortable bed, and nice air-conditioning. For what you pay, you get what you’d expect, it isn’t a 5 star hotel, but I really enjoyed my staycation here.

Burning rubbish nearby makes the area unpleasant, even though rice terraces are close by. From the room, the view is just a wall. The pool is so small you can only bathe in it, not swim, maybe it’s meant for dogs or cats. The rooms get very hot despite the air-conditioning, and the walls are thin. There’s no teapot, the sofa is uncomfortable, and the hot water kept working only intermittently even after I told the staff.

We wanted a villa away from the city's hustle and bustle, and this was a great fit. The place was clean, spacious, neat, and tidy, with a really peaceful feel. From the rice terrace view, we could watch the paddies and farmers at work in the morning. We spent our holiday well here.
