The room felt unsafe and unsuitable to stay in. There were ants when I arrived, then a gecko and a lizard appeared that night. Holes in the wooden ceiling seemed to let small animals and insects in, and I was too uncomfortable to sleep. I cancelled through Booking.com and asked for a full refund, but the owner declined, so I lost the cancellation fee, including the first night’s charge, even though I left without using it. I was waiting for friends to pick me up because I had luggage and didn’t feel safe walking alone down the dark alley to the main road. The owner knocked after seeing the cancellation and said I had to leave immediately. When I explained I was waiting for a ride, he told me to wait outside. He wouldn’t help with my luggage until I insisted. I later contacted Booking.com customer service to complain and request a full refund, but I haven’t heard back. I’m disappointed by the whole experience.

It’s quiet here but still within walking distance of busy streets, shops, and restaurants. This has a homestay feel, with a spacious, fairly clean room, a decent bathroom, and a hot shower and air conditioner that both worked well. There’s also a water machine on the ground floor. Some rooms are upstairs and a long way from the entrance, with stairs on the route. If you have lots of luggage, consider whether you can manage it or ask the host about help. They kindly helped me at check-in and check-out.

You can hear people talking and coughing very clearly when your room shares a thin wall with the next one. If the neighbors are loud, that could be pretty stressful. It seems to depend on which room you get. The location is good and the hospitality is high, so with a quieter room, I think you’d be satisfied overall.

At night, the garden was so quiet that even as a very light sleeper I slept well. The property is tucked down a charming alley just off the main road, with a lovely garden that feels like a little escape from the busy surroundings. It’s a bit like being right in Times Square, then slipping away to your own peaceful spot. The junior suite was roomy, and both the bed and room were comfortable. There’s a small balcony overlooking the garden. The owner was kind, and you can have breakfast brought to your room in the morning. It felt very homely. Definitely book if you get the chance.
