Jungle Lotus Villas

Kadek, the owner, was really friendly and did her best to help whenever we had an issue. The villas were just as shown in the listing, and we had a great stay. Since you’re in the jungle, expect ants, insects, and some little creatures. It’s also a bit isolated, without amenities close by, so pick up what you need in town during the day.

Kadek, the owner and manager, was wonderful. The place is so calm it’s almost laughably serene, with valley forest all around and a stream running through it. Everything was clean and matched the pictures and description. It’s near Central Ubud, but far enough from the hectic noise to feel like an escape. If I return, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.

You really feel the jungle here, and it’s surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was lovely too. Getting around does mean you definitely need a scooter, but otherwise it’s a perfect place to stay. I’ll be back soon.

I loved my stay at this small property with three private villas, hidden down a little road among the rice fields about 3 kms from Ubud. It feels like an authentic Bali oasis. The WiFi was incredibly fast everywhere, even in the room, which was better than at plenty of five-star hotels. Kadek is great in the kitchen, and breakfast was a treat, especially the smoothie bowl, with lots of other choices as well. The villas have spacious, airy Lumbung-style rooms with wooden floors and upper balconies looking out over the jungle. Each has a comfortable private lounge in a tropical style, with lovely breezes and flowering gardens that seem to spill into the space. The bathroom details are beautiful, from the luxurious amenities to the rainwater shower. There’s art throughout, including a volcanic statue in the bathroom and a large Ganesha at the entrance. You can find a meditation platform by the river or practice yoga in the shala above the garden. Around 5 pm, the late afternoon light is lovely. I enjoyed taking it all in from the pool or the open-air lounge, with white curtains framing the view and a glass of wine from the minibar fridge. The staff were attentive and always reachable. It’s about a ten-minute car or taxi ride into town, and Kadek arranged a scooter rental for me. I got adventurous with it, though that won’t suit everyone, and it was a fun way to see the area and get around faster. This makes a great base for exploring temples, waterfalls, museums like The Arma, and the rice fields. If you run or enjoy long walks, there’s also a quiet, flat 3 kms road through the fields with no cars, just local farmers smiling as you pass. Such a joy. I’ll be back. I found my real Bali here.
