Kappa Senses Ubud Hotel

I stayed a while ago, so this review is very late, but it was the best holiday I’ve ever had. I’m fussy, and everything felt just right. It was incredibly relaxing with so few other guests around. Some days we nearly had the main pool to ourselves, with plenty of privacy in the cabanas. There’s also a separate kids’ pool, so it almost felt like an adults-only stay. Breakfast was amazing, including gluten-free crepes they made for me, and the restaurant steak was perfect. The spa massage was great too. I’ve never felt so relaxed, and a big resort I stayed at afterward was a letdown by comparison. I can’t wait to return to Kappa Senses for another peaceful, beautiful stay.

The setting is gorgeous, tucked among rice fields and rainforest, and the photos don’t really do the grounds justice. We came during a quiet period and sometimes felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. There are two pools, and it feels wonderfully remote and relaxing. Our room was immaculate, with a very comfortable bed and a standard that felt worthy of five stars. The staff were warm, always smiling, remembered our occasion, and handled requests quickly through their WhatsApp number. They did everything they could to make the stay feel special. We’ve enjoyed every meal. The breakfast buffet is fresh and has plenty of choice. At dinner, they happily adjusted dishes to make them vegetarian for me. The menu can feel limited if you have the light dinner included, though, with only one or two pizzas, little pasta choice, and no simple options like fries or wedges. The pool snack menu could use a few basics too, as there were times we wanted something like fries, wedges, or spring rolls to nibble on. Yoga had amazing views, and the spa was just lovely. Our hour-long Balinese massage left us feeling calm and relaxed. The gym has what you need, including weight machines and treadmills, and there’s a sauna we’ve been making good use of. A couple of little things could be better: an afternoon cocktail deal with more than just Sangria, and grilled tomatoes or waffles at breakfast. We were also unsure about the dinner water. Some nights we were given water, while other times we were charged $10 for a bottle of the same still water we’d asked for before. A magical stay all the same. Thanks to the wonderful staff, we’ll definitely be back.

Meals were a highlight every day, with fresh, flavorful food and beautiful presentation. We loved the rice field views from the dining area, especially around sunrise and sunset. The team’s warmth made the whole visit feel personal, from the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping. Everyone was attentive and caring from the moment we arrived. Our spacious villa was spotless and beautifully designed, with a private pool and lush greenery all around. The main pool is stunning and a lovely place to unwind, and the spa treatments were among the best we’ve had. The sincere hospitality and attention to detail made the stay feel truly luxurious. We had an unforgettable time at Kapa Senses Ubud and can’t wait to return.

Tini and Wiras gave us wonderful massages, and we also had a really peaceful yoga class. What stood out most was the phenomenal service and the warm welcome we felt from the Balinese people. As we were leaving, the kind woman from the permaculture brought us rambutan and other Bali fruit because she knew how much we liked them. We had a lovely stay at Kappa Senses and would recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud.
