Kebun Indah Ubud

We stayed two nights in the Cempaka room. From the balcony we could see the pool and local rice fields, partly hidden by big trees. Each morning squirrels hopped through the trees, and birds sang near us. It was an amazing sight. The room was clean, with a refrigerator for our Falala chocolate, and the service was warm and lovely. The food was so delicious, especially the Baliness Coffe. We even spent about 20 minutes chatting with the man who brought breakfast, hearing about daily life in Bali and getting his suggestions for places to visit. It’s a quiet spot to rest after the crowded center of Ubud.

We stayed five nights in the tea room and would happily recommend it. Breakfast was brought to the room on time and prepared perfectly. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff were great. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and appreciated. A calm, clean stay with a real Balinese feel.

For me, the old world charm and sincere hospitality made this place special. It’s a little tired in spots and could use some love, but it was clean and lovingly maintained overall. The staff were warm and treated me like their own guest. I’ll be back. Makasi. It’s centrally located but tucked away from the traffic and noise in a lush, peaceful oasis near a cascading creek. At least during my stay, there were no monkeys. There are fancier and more luxurious places, so if you need brand-new, high-end comfort, this may not be for you. But if you want a more authentic, traditional Balinese hospitality experience and a step back into Bali’s not-so-distant past, it’s a great option.

Kebun Indah is a lovely traditional property, and the staff provided good service. We stayed four nights in June and picked it for its small boutique feel and special character. The Cepaka pool view room was spacious, full of traditional charm, and had the comfiest bed of our whole trip. It sits 130 metres from the road, so it’s quiet. We didn’t see any other guests during our stay. Some people would love that, but I found it a bit too isolated and quiet. We didn’t include breakfast because there are so many good places to eat nearby. There wasn’t a safe in the room, which seems like a standard hotel feature these days, or tea and coffee facilities. The hosts were happy to provide a kettle and cups for our morning drink.
