The bird sanctuary at the Liyer House is amazing, and I got an impromptu tour. You can see how much they love their birds. The massage therapists are fantastic too, and there’s a rose petal bath afterward. Thank you for welcoming my daughter and me. Choosing to stay here was the best decision we made on our trip to Ubud. The location was perfect, and the hospitality from the staff and family was beyond great. They made us feel like part of the family. I’d stay again and highly recommend it, especially if you’re on a spiritual journey.

Don’t bother. The guy is lovely, but unless you arrive first, you’ll wait ages. When it’s finally your turn, he won’t tell you anything about your past. He’ll ask about you and then give you a very generic prediction. I went with three other people, and all of us were told we’d live to 90 and have two kids. It seems like the place is living off its reputation now. There are also caged animals, including giant squirrels and parrots, that I don’t think should be there.

For a five-minute experience, it’s very expensive. You go there, pick a number, and then wait for hours, which I think is disrespectful of customers’ time when they could take online bookings. The place is very touristy, and the palm reading didn’t feel spiritual or deep. He kept trying to sell me his bracelets, which was annoying. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We went as a group of five friends and got the exact same reading, word for word. It was just the same script recycled, including predictions that we’d die at 90, have two kids, have a boyfriend, marry one person, and each own a business. Don’t go here. We paid $30 Australian dollars for a reading that lasted three minutes, after a long wait. It seems to be riding on the popularity of Eat Pray Love.

Palm reading here was a complete waste of time and money, an absolute joke. I expected an amazing spiritual experience and got none of that. It lasted less than five minutes, and he just told me the same general stuff he’d told my friend right before me. Please don’t waste your money here.
