The staff were incredibly polite and ready to help with any questions. They brought tea or coffee to the pool themselves, and you could have it at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It was all FREE. Breakfast came in three varieties, prepared in the morning and delivered to the villa on time. The hotel also offers a convenient free airport transfer. The hotel has several separate villas on one property, near the center of Ubud, and the pool has a stunning jungle view. There are two things to keep in mind. It’s on a mountain, so you have to climb a tall, narrow staircase to reach it. Also, geckos are everywhere around Ubud and Bali, and you may find them in your room, on the ceiling or walls. Staff can help remove them and provide chemicals, but sharing a room overnight with lizards isn’t pleasant. Still, this is the jungle, their territory, and they’ve always been here and will continue to be.

The large bed and pool were nice, and the bathroom had a bathtub. But getting to the hotel with luggage meant climbing some tough stairs. The plumbing was also a problem: draining the tub sent water up through the shower and flooded the bathroom. There were far too many geckos leaving droppings on the bed.
