We barely slept because of the chicken howling through the night. We managed to doze off around 1 a.m., woke at 3:30, and by 5 we gave up. When we went to reception in frustration to ask about cancelling or getting a refund, they refused. They showed us another villa, but the chicken noise was there too, so we had to check out and pay more for somewhere else at the last minute. The layout was worrying as well: the bedroom is upstairs, while the bathroom is downstairs, reached by steep, unsafe stairs. Going down in the dark to use it at night felt dangerous, and we were always concerned about falling. The room wasn’t in good condition either. We booked two nights, and this became one of our worst travel experiences. It ruined part of our holiday. The place felt unsafe, uncomfortable, and far too noisy to tolerate. If sleep, safety, and peace of mind matter to you, please don’t book this villa under any condition.

The open-roof bathroom was a real highlight and gave the place extra charm. I also liked having the option of breakfast by the pool. I stayed for two nights in a spotless, comfortable upstairs room with a balcony, private pool access, and a cozy cabana. The menu was a little limited, though the food was delicious and the service exceptional. I’d say the price is justified, definitely a big yes.

We came during rainy season, but the villas were beautiful enough for a staycation anyway. They’re romantic, and the service was good too.

The doors and windows don’t seal fully, so smoke from people burning trash and crops in Indonesia sometimes came into the room. The shower was hot and nice, but two people showering close together could use up the hot water. On the plus side, it was mostly peaceful. We heard chickens in the morning, but they weren’t too loud and didn’t bother us. Earplugs should help if you’re more sensitive to that. The villa was spacious and clean, the beds and especially the pillows were super comfortable, and the AC worked well. Staff were helpful, with reception open 24 hours. We had a nice massage in the room, though I’d have preferred an actual spa room. The outdoor bathroom seemed a little scary at first, but we hardly saw any bugs. We’d definitely stay again.
