Moonlight Bisma

The homestay was spotless, and I found it just as advertised. It's right in the centre of Ubud, near restaurants and a convenience shop, in a lively area that's a handy starting point for exploring on foot. I booked for two nights.

The hosts were so accommodating, leaving us tea, coffee, and bottles of water in the morning. We also had a great location, just a minute from a supermarket, bars, and restaurants, but the spot itself was quiet. Our room was spacious, clean, and good quality, with a king-size bed, good AC, and efficient wifi. A really lovely place to stay, and I'd happily recommend it.

The room matched the photos and was clean and comfortable, but check-in went badly because the owner had made a mistake and there was no space in the guest house. I waited nearly two hours before they put me in a neighboring house. They said I could stay one extra day at Moonlight Bisma to make up for the first night in a much worse room than the one I paid for. I was relieved they'd sorted something out, but by my last day the administrator had forgotten that promise and told me I had to pay for the final night. The whole thing spoiled my mood and took a lot of time and effort to untangle. If you stay here, be ready for possible check-in problems.

The garden is well looked after, the staff are friendly, and it's very close to the main streets.
