Nang Ade Villa by Pramana Villas

The gardens and pool are lovely, and the setting is quiet and green, with rice fields nearby. It’s about 15 minutes by motorbike to central Ubud. Cheap local restaurants and fancier hotel restaurants are walkable, and there’s a Circle K right outside the driveway. Our rooms were clean and the AC worked very well. Despite the problems, we enjoyed our stay and found the staff sweet. They also helped with local information and recommendations. There were several issues inside the villa. The shower pressure was very low, and the shower head turned when the tap was on, spraying water across the bathroom floor. I had to hold it in place the whole time. The beds squeaked badly, the kitchen wasn’t clean enough, and the cupboards were filthy inside with dirty utensils. Trash wasn’t taken away daily: pizza boxes left beside the bin on the first night were still on the counter on day three, even though staff had been at the villa each day. The bathroom sink was blocked and took 20 minutes to drain even after a quick hand wash. The sun loungers had no padding and were very uncomfortable. We were overcharged for laundry, which was disappointing. The staff said it weighed X amount, but our own scales showed it was a couple of kilos lighter than the receipt said. I also wouldn’t rent motorbikes through the staff. The company they contacted delivered the oldest, most scratched bikes I’ve seen, and all the helmets were badly damaged, as if they’d been dropped hundreds of times. They didn’t seem safe in a collision. When we asked for different bikes, we were told the company had none left. If you stay, book and collect your own bikes.
