Narda House Ubud

The rooms were good, and the Balinese family running this small homestay were nice. Getting to it is the difficult part: it’s down a little alley near Ubud Centre, so you have to carry your luggage along on foot. The stairs up to the rooms are steep, which could be especially hard for older guests or anyone with knee trouble.

The owner was very helpful, and her son can drive you around for the day for a small fee. Breakfast had a good range of choices and could be served on the terrace or in bed. The room was spacious, with very big comfortable beds and a nicely decorated bathroom. One drawback: the electricity is switched off in your room while you’re out, so it feels damp when you return. An hour with the air conditioning on sorts it out. I liked the hotel and would recommend it.

The beds were comfortable, the staff friendly, and breakfast was included. There’s also a pool where you can unwind after a day out, and the location is great. Just keep expectations modest about cleanliness: we weren’t given fresh towels, ran out of toilet paper, and the bathroom mirror needed a proper wash.

We spent five days at Narada house, close to Ubud palace, restaurants, and shops. Balinese dance is on there every day at 6:30 PM. The owner was very friendly and helped us with lots of things; they have a car for site seeing for 500k(50 AUD), and also dropped us at the airport. The staff were lovely and had breakfast ready on time. That breakfast was excellent, especially the Banana and Pineapple pancake. Our kids also had fun playing with the friendly little doggy picky.
