We’ve stayed here about five times over the past three years, but we’ve decided against returning. Construction directly in front of the windows has made it less private and comfortable. It used to feel quite private and convenient, with room for just two families at once. The upstairs room is best, though geckos on the roof can sound very loud, almost like a big cat or small person, and roosters may wake you in the morning. The owner can be inconsistent, and despite prior agreements, there have been problems with the high floor room being available. We confirmed with the owner that there is NO breakfast anymore. Also, some pictures and reviews refer to a different location of Narendra. There is another location, Narendra Guest House!

The host’s warmth and attentiveness made me feel right at home, and the accommodations were impeccably clean and comfortable. Narendra Guest House is close to Ubud town center, making it easy to explore, yet the many exotic plants around the guest house give it a tranquil feel. I had a memorable stay and would happily return. It’s a standout choice in Ubud, Bali, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful stay.

Narendra Guest House is a quiet escape just off Ubud’s main streets, and taxis can pull in here without blocking traffic. From this spot, many main attractions are easy to reach on foot or by taxi. The owners were kind and went above and beyond to make me comfortable. I loved the spacious room and koi fish pond, and those massive beds could easily fit three adults or two adults and two children. I’ll be back next time I’m in Ubud, and will recommend Narendra to anyone.

The service really stood out: the staff were friendly and helped with whatever I needed, the room was cleaned daily, and fresh flowers made it smell amazing. Breakfast was included, delicious, and came with a plate of fresh fruit. The room and bathroom were very clean, right in a charming garden with fish and turtles in the ponds. Large Bintangs are only 40k ;-) Book if you can!

This used to be one of our favorite Ubud stays, a charming little villa with just two apartments, one downstairs and one upstairs. It’s a bit older, but tastefully furnished and in good shape overall. Now the owner is building a large new six-apartment building right next door. Its windows face directly into the villa, so privacy will be significantly reduced when it’s finished. Service has declined, and breakfast has been discontinued since 2025. Sleep can be difficult, too: there are lots of roosters nearby, and at night disturbing sounds come from the attic in the upper apartment, probably from a gecko or another animal living there. Earplugs are needed for a restful night.
