My girls and I felt like family at this guest house, thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. It’s a peaceful haven right in the heart of Ubud, close to everything. There’s direct access to an almost pedestrian alley lined with shops and restaurants. The market, palace, and Monkey Forest are all within walking distance. We’ll definitely be back ;)

The paintings by the host’s family and their artist friends make this one of the most artistic places I’ve stayed. The host is talented and welcoming, and Kimi (dog) is super cute too. I’ll be back with dog’s snack! There’s a real family feel here. The host speaks good English, and I enjoyed chatting with him and learning about this lovely, oldest guesthouse, which is still well maintained. It’s very quiet despite being on Ubud’s busiest street. You can walk to all the spots, though traffic is heavy. The location is great, but a bit too touristy, and the restaurants are quite expensive.

We chose Ubud as our base for the start of our first trip to Bali, and ended up extending our stay by three more nights. Rae and her staff made it such an enjoyable time. The Nirvana pension is in the market area, close to central Ubud, and it felt peaceful and easy-going :)

We couldn’t resist coming back at the end of our trip, just to feel like we were returning to a warm, loving home. The Nirvana Pension has been our home away from home in the heart of Ubud, a peaceful sanctuary right in the center. Go down that little street and Rai and her wonderful family will welcome you. It’s within walking distance of rice field walks, the arts market, pedestrian streets, and lots of cafes and restaurants.
