Prashanti Ubud

It was very quiet at the hotel, even though it’s reached from Ubud’s main road. The location itself was nice, but traffic on the main road is awful, and getting anywhere and back takes a long time in the queues. I’d look farther from the main road if I returned to Ubud. The room looked nice, and breakfast was quite good. Cleaning was okay. They didn’t change the towels every day, and nobody told us that would be the case, though when we asked for fresh ones they brought them. The toilet and shower shared one room with no separating door. There was no air conditioning, fridge, or working safe.

The pool facing the natural surroundings is hard to put into words, and the room was charmingly decorated. We had another amazing visit to Prashanti. I first stayed in 2016, and they’ve made the place even better since then. It’s on Ubud’s outskirts, among rice paddies and overlooking a lush valley. Maya and Swem are welcoming owners who help with whatever you need. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The forest view is stunning, and the pool sits right at the edge of the property looking out over it. The accommodation is reached by a path for bikes and pedestrians, but staff can arrange a scooter to carry your bags when you arrive or leave. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s about a ten-minute walk into town, close enough to reach the hub but far enough away for peace and quiet. The start of the Campuhan Ridge Walk is also around ten minutes away. We loved walking along the rice paddy path at night, with fireflies all around.

The view is breathtaking, and it’s easy to relax in this lovely oasis amid busy Ubud. Our room was simple but clean, with a very comfortable big bed. The whole place feels lovingly cared for. There’s a nice coffee and restaurant spot right across the way, plus a massage place just a few steps away. We worried at first that big or heavy luggage would make access difficult, but contact the staff and they’ll come right away with a scooter to pick you up and transport your bags.
