The Athaya Ubud

We were both sick with colds when we reached Athaya, so we dropped some activities and focused on resting. The room was standard sized, nothing fancy or especially large, but it was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was extremely comfy, and we slept wonderfully for two nights. It was quiet day and night. For the price, this hotel is great value. The rain shower was glorious, and even our longer showers never ran out of hot water. The staff were kind and professional throughout. One evening we asked if they could heat a box of leftovers in the microwave. They brought it back to our room on a proper plate with cutlery, along with fresh rice. There was a little old rice left in our box, but the staff member explained they'd replaced it with a fresh portion from the restaurant. We really appreciated that care and attention. Mas Village was the reason we picked this place. It's outside Ubud's busy centre, but getting into town by Gojek is easy, and the quieter setting is great for unwinding. You can walk to a few good little cafes, titti Batu club, one of Ubud's best wellness gyms, and a Circle K just two doors away that's open 24 hours. The rooms are beautiful, the pool is nice, and the staff were really helpful. The air conditioning gets cold, which you need on hot days. Breakfast comes with the stay and was delicious, with lots of choices. I didn't use the TV, but it had pay channels and movies. I'll stay here again next time I'm in town.

The one thing I'd ask the management to improve is the WiFi. Still, I'm leaving *Athaya Ubud* tonight feeling sad to go. I've stayed here six times now, sometimes nearly three weeks in a row, and I'll keep coming back. The staff are attentive and friendly, and reply quickly on WhatsApp when I need help. The rooms are comfortable and well looked after. I often ask for room 209, the corner room at the end with a lovely pool view. It's peaceful, surrounded by local nature, and an affordable place to relax. The location also makes it easy to explore Ubud while having a quiet place to return to. I really do recommend *Athaya Ubud* if you're looking for somewhere lovely to stay.

The food was stale and awful, and the bathroom smelled because there was no ventilation. The toilet often wouldn't flush, and barely any water came out of the shower. During my three nights in a private pool villa, they only provided water and toiletries for one day. This was the most expensive place I stayed in Bali, and the worst.
