The villas sit among green trees, birdsong, and running water, with a feeling of being deep in the forest. Getting there is part of the surprise: from a moss-covered entrance wall with Balinese-style architecture, you pass through about three gates before reaching the villa area. It’s a lovely place for couples or groups of friends. There are beautiful spots around 15 minutes away, and when I searched online I didn’t find much information about them or many tourists. It’s a way to experience Bali in a very Balinese way.

A nice spot for a quick getaway with a couple of friends. The villa caretakers were kind and helpful, and I really liked the service. It’s also a good place to spend some quiet time on your own or with people you love.

The views, privacy, and location were positives. Cleanliness, upkeep, the house, and service were negatives. We lived there for six months in 2020. The owner, Hainer, seemed to treat himself far better than his guests. The administration shut off the professional main kitchen, calling it a “staff room,” and left us with a tiny kitchen that had very basic equipment. Its roof leaked and the space stayed wet every day. I reduced the rent by 10%, though I still think we should have moved out. The leak was never fixed during our stay, and when I contacted the owner, he made it clear he didn’t want to hear from me. The staff tried, but couldn’t get the house properly clean, and it always felt dusty. The house has a beautiful design in principle, but it’s poorly maintained. The administration was useless, and the owner seemed completely indifferent to what guests needed. I don’t recommend staying here.

It’s gorgeous out here, remote and surrounded by jungle. You need to be looking for real serenity to enjoy being this far out. There’s so much to explore around the property that you could walk for days and keep finding new things. Highly recommended.
